Casa Tortuga is a one-story villa with five air conditioned bedroom and 6 baths in the hills of Conchas Chinas, within an easy 15-30 minute walking distance to the center of Puerto Vallarta. The house is about 3000 sq.ft. and pool, recreation and sun area, another 3000 sq.ft. It is located on one of the largest lots in the area and is one of the few villas with no direct view from neighboring villas. The view from Casa Tortuga Villa
is spectacular and overlooks the Bahia de Banderas ("Bay of Flags")
which is the 6th largest bay in the world created when a volcano erupted
leaving the bay in it's place. The house comes with a car port but
otherwise the taxi fare from town is in the range of 40-60 pesos (current
rate is about 12.5 pesos/$1). The cupola on the right is a dining
area for 10. The cupola to the left is a bar with a powder room and
a shower.
The area around the Bay of Banderas is hilly with beautiful
views. Casa Tortuga is located about half way up in the center of this
picture which shows the Conchas Chinas section of Puerto Vallarta, just
South of the center of town along the water. A 10-15 minute walk takes
you to the beach. There are no houses around us with a direct view of
our villa so it's unusually private in this very unique part of Puerto
Vallarta. During the period Nov - April/May the weather is normally very
nice and there is no need for A/C. However, all bedrooms come equipped
with air conditioning and ceiling fans.
The large and spacious living room and TV room, face
the deck area and the view of the bay beyond. Turning around from the living/TV
rooms you will find a large area that contains the dining table which
seats 10. We tend to have breakfast at this table and dinner in the cupola. To
the right of the dining room table is the kitchen and in the forefront
to the right is another cozy sitting area. Bedroom #1 has two full size beds. Like all bedrooms, it has air conditioning, a ceiling fan and the windows have screens and glass windows. This bedroom faces the side of the house but also has a view of towards the front through the smaller window. Bedroom #2 is located next to bedroom #1 and has a king size bed. The picture is taken from the bathroom door. The bedroom faces the rear of the property which is a small slope followed by jungle. There are no houses within sight and the property goes well up into the jungle to ensure that no house can be built that could overlook our villa. It also is air conditioned and has a ceiling fan. Bedroom #3 has two twin beds. As with bedroom #2, the window faces the rear of the house and the jungle up above on the hill. It is air conditioned and has a ceiling fan.
The master bedroom is at the South end of the house
with the jungle behind the house visible through the two windows on either
side of the king size bed. While there is no need for A/C during main
season, the Nov.- April period, this room also has air conditioning.
Two ceiling fans provide more than adequate air circulation. View of the sitting area on the veranda where we tend
to sit in the evening before dinner having margaritas, guacamole, chips,
etc. while watching the sunset over the ocean. You may choose to bring gourmet coffee with you as well as decaf coffee.
You are expected to pay for the groceries on an ongoing basis. Blas will
bring you the receipts for the food bought and you should then pay him
so that he can pay the bills at the supermarket. All travelers must have a valid
passport to enter Puerto Vallarta. The passport must be valid for six
months after your return date. Do to unfortunate experiences, we cannot
accept guests with children under 13 years of age.
